Selena Gomez is not ashamed of her health struggles and prefers to be open and honest with the public about her ongoing battle with Lupus and other medical complications she's faced over the years.

The "Only Murders in the Building" actress attended a Women in Film dinner in Beverly Hills on Thursday (September 19) aside her younger sister, Gracie, 11, and got candid about why she chose to reveal that she could not bear a child.

"I truly believe that there is power in being vulnerable and telling people when you need help or when you want help. So yeah, I shared that I can’t carry a child. Yeah, I shared that I have bipolar. F*** off. That’s what my life is. That’s who I am."

Earlier this month, the Rare Beauty founder opened up to Vanity Fair about life with Lupus, unveiling that, due to health complications with the condition, she cannot conceive her own children.

"I haven't ever said this, but I unfortunately can't carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while."

Gomez eventually found a silver lining amid the grieving process, sharing that it has given her a newfound appreciation for adoption and surrogacy, both of which the "Come & Get It" songstress considers options for her future.

"It's not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] I'm in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. I'm excited for what that journey will look like, but it'll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don't care. It'll be mine. It'll be my baby."

Even before entering into a serious relationship beau Benny Blanco the standout divulged plans to adopt a child and start a family, explaining at the start of the summer that she'd always planned to "adopt at 35" regardless of her marital status.
