And it's true, while only a few movie stars will walk off with an Oscar statuette or two this Sunday, there's at least one thing every big-name attendee can look forward to receiving: their free swag bags. Each one of these bags can be worth up to $100,000! According to Page Six, the bags are apparently filled with extremely lavish and extravagant goodies like a "24K gold facial" (of which I never knew even existed!), a private Italian dinner for 16 people (do I even have that many friends?) and free trips to Tanzania, Hawaii and Greece.
Inside the bags are also services such as sessions with a celebrity trainer and a "gum rejuvenation" dental procedure (what the heck is that?), along with a "conflict-free" diamond necklace and gluten-free chocolate vodka.
Oh sure, there are some random freebies too like locally grown oranges and bottles of the Mexican pop called Jarritos. I'm happy to find out that there's even a philanthropic aspect to one of the gifts in these swag bags: Stars get to make a $10,000 donation to an animal shelter of their choice.
I never knew but assumed that ultimately, the Oscar "people" have the final say on what goes each of the swag bags. In past years, some celebrities opened their packages to find gifts such as weed vaporizers and plastic surgery gift cerfiticates.
